Living and working full time in a Class C motorhome
This 3 mile hike took us through Palmettos and Pine trees. We saw tons of birds and a Sherman Fox Squirrel! We were the only ones there so it made for a peaceful afternoon. Cross the street for another mile hike along the South Loop.
This 1 mile hike takes you through Palmettos and Pine trees and then along the Santa Fe River.
This short, easy hike is absolutely stunning. Gorgeous views of the prairie, tons of birds, bison poo and wild horses! This trail starts just south of the park entrance and requires a $2 cash payment if you don't have a Florida State Parks Pass. Parts of this trail can be muddy so make sure to take the proper footwear.
Ravine Gardens State Park is in Palatka, Florida about 45 minutes east of Gainesville. The park has two ravines and formal gardens. We hiked the strenuous Azalea Trail in and out of the ravines. This was very steep at points so be prepared for lots of climbing and stairs. We did find a couple of spots on the trail where it was confusing which way to go so make sure to look for the red blazes on the trees. There is also a paved walkway the view the gardens without having to climb in and out of the ravines.
